Microsoft® Reader 2.0 for Windows-based PCs and laptops

Please note that at this time there are no Macintosh or Linux-compatible versions of Microsoft Reader. The browser screen shots used here were created with Internet Explorer. Netscape has similar screens.

In the File Download box, select
Save this program to disk.

Save the file named msreadersetup.exe to your hard drive.

4.

Wait for the download to finish ...

... then locate msreadersetup.exe on your hard drive, double-click the file, and follow the prompts to complete installation.

[Note: If you have Internet Explorer 5.0 or later, the installation will begin automatically.]

After installation is finished, start the Microsoft Reader by double-clicking the icon on your desktop. ...

Click Activate Now ...

9.

... and click Sign Up Now to set up a Passport account.

This account registers you as a user, checks that you have the latest upgrade of the Reader, and ensures copyright protection for the eBooks in your library.
