Subscription FAQ
The
offers subscriptions to several high-quality fiction magazines.
Subscriptions provide our customers a convenient and economical way
to receive a year's worth of issues. New issues appear in your bookshelf
automatically each month, with a notification email sent to you informing
you that the new issue has arrived. This page answers frequently asked
questions (FAQ) about magazine subscriptions.
Questions:
Can I buy a single issue instead of subscribing?
Yes. Like a newsstand, you can buy a single issue or any number of
issues to check out the magazine before you purchase a subscription.
Or, you may subscribe and receive a year's worth of issues.
How do I subscribe to a magazine?
Easy!
- Go to the Magazine's page.
- Next to each magazine issue's description there is a link, "Subscribe
to this Magazine". Press that link and you are brought to a page
describing the subscription. Click the "Add to Cart" button on
that page and a 1 year subscription to that magazine is added
to your cart.
- In your cart you will notice a pulldown menu next to the magazine
subscription. This menu defaults to "Start with Next Issue". You
may also select to start with the current issue of the magazine
(if you do not already own it).
- Check out as usual. If you selected to start with the current
issue, it will be moved to your bookshelf immediately.
Each month, as new issues become available, they are automatically
moved to your bookshelf. You will receive a notification email
whenever a new issue is posted to your bookshelf. You may then download
the issue and read it.
Do discounts apply to subscriptions?
Some do and some don't.
The following types of discounts do not apply to magazine
subscriptions:
- "New This Week" 15% discounts. Subscriptions are not
"new" each week. However, subscription pricing works out to a
larger discount than the 15% discount the first week a new issue
is released, and are much more convenient.
- General eBook coupons. A coupon that applies to "every
eBook" or all eBooks of a given genre or author, etc., do not
apply to subscriptions.
- General eBook promotions. A promotion that provides discounts
to "every eBook" or eBooks in a specific genre or author do not
apply to subscriptions.
- Buywise club Free eBook Coupons. A Buywise club member
gets coupons that allow him/her to get 2 eBooks for free. If you
could use this type of coupon to buy a whole subscription, you'd
be getting 11 eBooks for free which is a bit much!
However, the following types of discount do apply to subscriptions:
- Buywise club 15% discounts. The regular 15% off that
Buywise club members get for buying eBooks do apply to buying
a subscription. The subscription will cost 15% less than a non-club
member.
- Coupons or Promotions targeted specifically at a subscription.
A coupon or promotion specifically for a subscription to a magazine
will count, such as a coupon called "10% off subscription to Asimov's
Magazine."
How will I receive my magazines each month?
As a subscriber, new issues are automatically moved into your bookshelf
as soon as they are published. You are informed by email that new
issues are available and you may then download them in any format
you choose.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, you may send us email via the Support
page to cancel your subscription. You will receive a pro-rated refund
depending on how many issues you have received. The refund will be
placed in your micropay account.
Can I subscribe to the print issue as well?
Not directly, we only sell eBooks :)
